Help identifying my Rebel engine year

Hey everyone, I'm currently fixing up my Rebel 250, and I noticed that while the frame indicates it's from 1985, the engine serial number is MC13e-3201125. I want to make sure I get the correct carburetor rebuild kit. Any suggestions on how I can confirm the engine's manufacturing year? Thanks!

The best way to confirm the engine's year is by cross-referencing the serial number with a Honda parts fiche or VIN/engine code lookup , since Honda engine codes dont always match the frame year. A Honda dealer or an online OEM parts site should be able to tell you exactly what year that MC13E engine was built, so you can order the right carb kit without guessing

I get where you're coming from, trying not to get something that doesn't work, but as far as I know the carb rebuild kits I've looked at cover a wider range of years, so I'm guessing you'll be good.
