Just picked up a Honda Rebel 500 and I'm finally getting serious about gear, for some time now been riding in an old hand me down and I know it's time to upgrade so I'm looking for a jacket that fits the rebel's cruiser vibe, something protective but still comfortable for city and weekend rides. Leather or textile, I'm open. What are you all wearing on your rebels please?

I think you should consider a mesh jacket that matches the Rebel's cruiser look. The jacket I mentioned is made of mesh, which allows for excellent airflow, keeping you cool while still offering protection

Nice pick-up on the Rebel, for that cruiser vibe, I'd go with a good leather jacket that is stylish and protective but if you want lighter, a solid textile jacket works too

@Dark.Ivy If you want something that really fits the cruiser vibe and offers solid protection, a good leather jacket is hard to beat
Look for something from Roland Sands Design (RSD) or even Icon's more 'heritage' styles. They've got that timeless cool but still pack CE-rated armor

+1 on @WaffleWoes's suggestion!
Check out Roland Sands Design, especially their Ronin or Clash!
Merlin and First Manufacturing also got great leather options!

Think about getting gear with CE-rated padding and a shell that can handle scrapes. It's gotta work as good as it looks, especially if you're rocking it around town and on weekend rides

One more suggestion for leather, black. It's sleek and elegant and matches the bike. @TheRebel2 appreciate your thoughts on something a bit different, but it's the wrong move for the Rebel. It's like wearing flipflops to your own wedding. You won't scrape your feet on the ground, but it's not the proper way to do it.
