Looking for clamp-on handlebars

I have this '86 Rebel 250 bobber and want some clamp-on bars that could be lower than stock. I've seen sizes like 50mm mentioned, but isn't it that that refers to the fork diameter? Help since I'm not totally sure what size fits the Rebel.

You're spot on, the 50mm measurement is about the diameter of the fork tubes, not the handlebars. The '86 Rebel 250 has 33mm fork tubes and 7/8" (or 22mm) handlebars.

If you're looking for clamp-on handlebars, make sure to get a set that fits 33mm forks. I've come across a few good options, have you had a chance to look on eBay or Amazon yet?

Do you know your fork tube diameter for sure? Most '86 Rebel 250s have 33mm forks, so you'd need 33mm clip-ons, not 50mm, have you measured yours to confirm?
